Sathyanarayana Abhishekam
( 6:30 PM, Sat, May 30, 2026 )

- Description
Sathyanarayana Abhishekam is a sacred Hindu ritual honoring Lord Sathyanarayana, a benevolent form of Lord Vishnu who embodies truth (Sathya) and divine grace. In this ceremony, the deity is bathed (abhishekam) with a succession of holy substances — typically milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, rose water, and coconut water — each poured reverently over the idol or lingam while Vedic hymns and the Sathyanarayana Ashtottara (108 names) are chanted. The ritual is accompanied by the lighting of lamps, offering of flowers, tulsi leaves, and fruits, and concludes with aarti and the distribution of prasad. Devotees perform this abhishekam to seek Lord Sathyanarayana's blessings for truth, prosperity, fulfillment of vows, and the removal of obstacles in family and spiritual life.
