To build and operate a traditional-style Hindu temple dedicated primarily to Lord Murugan for the purpose of providing a place of worship, promote religious, spiritual, cultural educational and social activities for the community.

PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION

  1. As the primary deity of this temple is Lord Murugan, the temple will conduct major religious ceremonies that are historically conducted in the six famous abodes of Lord Murugan in South India along with celebrating the religious poojas and important ceremonies of other deities also in the temple complex.
  2. A Tamil priest, well versed with Saiva Siddhantha and trained by Tamil veda paadasala shall remain as head priest of the temple always. The organization may employ other priests as deemed necessary.
  3. To promote Hindu spirituality and provide a place of worship.
  4. To promote the principles and ideals of Hindu religion by dissemination of information.
  5. To preserve, propagate and perpetuate cultural aspects of Hindu religion such as music, fine arts, dance, drama.
  6. To conduct educational programs (e.g., language, religious and cultural education) and to provide humanitarian services and other services (as approved by the officers of the organization) to benefit the Hindu community and, as appropriate, the community at large.
  7. To provide community members a place for assembling and performing Hindu ceremonies and festivals.
  8. To abide by the Federal, State and Local laws and the Constitution of the United States of America. The corporation may not enter into any agreement, nor may its members, directors or officers adopt any resolution or bylaw, take any action or carry on any activity by or on behalf of the corporation not permitted to be entered into, taken or carried on by (a) an organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
  9. To carry out weddings and other Hindu religious ceremonies.
  10. The organization shall support funerals and related services.
  11. All income and benefits stay with the temple and no individual may make any personal gain. People employed by the temple are entitled for the salary/benefits agreed upon by the employment agreement. All business transactions carried out on behalf of the temple should benefit only the temple.
