Skanda Sasti Kavasam — Devaraya Swamigal's Tamil kavacham to Lord Murugan, traditionally chanted during Kanda Sashti and daily for protection. It's a long work (~244 lines), so let me confirm what you need before generating anything.

Then the main kavacham begins: சஷ்டியை நோக்கச் சரவண பவனார் / சிஷ்டருக் குதவும் செங்கதிர் வேலோன்...

The benefits are spelled out in the kavasam's own phala sruti (the closing verses), which is part of why it's held in such regard — the text itself states what regular chanting confers:

Protection is the core promise — it's a kavacham (armor). The verses invoke Vel's protection on every part of the body head to toe, and the phala sruti says those who chant with devotion will be guarded by Murugan's Vel day and night, in all directions. It specifically names protection from evil spirits, black magic (ஏவல், பில்லி, சூனியம்), enemies, and dangers during travel.

Removal of afflictions — the kaappu itself opens with this: துதிப்போர்க்கு வல்வினைபோம் துன்பம்போம் — for those who praise, deep-rooted karma and suffering depart. Tradition holds it dissolves the effects of past karmas, fears, chronic ailments, and navagraha doshas (especially Sevvai/Mars afflictions, since Murugan governs Mars).

Material and spiritual prosperity — செல்வம் பலித்துக் கதித்தோங்கும் — wealth flourishes and grows. The phala sruti promises the devas' favor, success in undertakings, family harmony, and freedom from debt and poverty.

Spiritual attainment — நிஷ்டையுங் கைகூடும் — steadfastness in meditation is attained. Consistent chanting is said to purify the mind, deepen devotion, and ultimately grant Murugan's darshan and grace.

Traditionally it's chanted daily after bath, or minimally on Tuesdays, Fridays, Sashti tithi, and Krittika nakshatra days — and during the six days of Kanda Sashti vratham, chanting it all six days culminating in Soorasamharam is considered equal to a great penance. The belief is that even hearing it sincerely confers benefit, which is why temples play it during abhishekam.
